Mission Four - Deadly Designs

Part 1 - Kugelstadt

This area is difficult because you have to move fast and the tank guy keeps yelling at you. There will be a soldier or two shooting at you at almost every point. Follow the tank around the street to the left. Don't make the next left in the street, though. Go down an alley on the right, by where the street curves. Make the next right, then another quick right. You will see stairs going up the outside of a building. Go up the stairs, eliminate all the soldiers, and get the panzerfaust. Go down the stairs, and make two lefts back onto the street. You'll see the tank again.

Wait until the tank blows up the bell tower. Then turn left down the street. Just before the barbed wire barrier, make a right through a metalwork gate. Follow the alley around until you get to the machine gun on your left. Use the machine gun while you can, then enter a large hole in the building next to it, go up the stairs, jump through the hole in the floor and go out the next large hole in the building. Or you can enter by the window. There is a soldier with a flamethrower, which will be useful if you get it. You must kill all the opposition here to protect the scientist, or you will lose the game. Fight your way around the walls and chainlink fence to the other side until you get the last man, who is over by some large boxes. You can get some health behind the barricade where the scientist is hiding.

When the scientist is safe, go back out the metalwork gate and into the street to the right. Go down the street and make the next right. The tank is under attack! Get all opposition, especially the one behind the machine gun at the end of the street. From this same street, make a left into an alley, where you can get a flamethrower and a panzerfaust. Don't save until the tank guy tells you the tank is safe; otherwise you might save just before you lose, which is bad. (This goes for the mission to protect the scientist as well).

Exit--The tank is facing a door that is blown open. Inside are four soldiers, one with a flamethrower. Enter, turn right, and then left. You're in a room with a lot of broken girders. The exit is at the far end of the room and to the right. You jump down into it.

Secrets: 1

The secret area is in the same room as the exit. Go to the end of the room opposite the exit. Climb up the leaning girder nearest to the wall. Balance on the very narrow edge and jump across to the broken floor (the part right above the doorway). You will see ammo and health in the nearest corner (to your left).

Part 2 - The Bombed Factory

Go up the ladder and kick the grate. There are snipers all over this area. Go to the right and then through a doorway on the left. You will see two bombed-out rooms. The one on the right has a grate at the far end. Kick it in and jump down into the sewer.

If you go right, you'll run into two soldiers and, if you go further on, you'll come to a ladder. Go up the ladder and kick the grate and you'll find health in this area. If you go left, there is a soldier with a flamethrower, and further on there is a ladder. This is the ladder you want to climb to progress on your mission.

There are three soldiers at the top of the ladder, one in a truck with a machine gun. Watch out for someone firing rockets at you over the truck. You'll see a door to the left of the truck. Run into it quickly.

Work your way through this building, going through a series of doorways to some stairs. Go up the stairs. When you hear two soldiers talking about disarming a bomb, wait outside--they're going to blow themselves up. Then go into the room. Most of the floor is blown away. Below, there are two soldiers and two barrels near the wall on your right. Blow up the barrels, jump down into the room to get the paratrooper rifles, and go back out the hole in the wall.

Go back up the stairs to the room with most of the floor missing. Stand by the wall nearest to the door and jump across. You'll see some health and a helmet on the floor, and another door to your right. Go in the door and turn left. You're in a room where the roof is mostly blown away. Go to the windows. There are two snipers in a building straight across. Below you can see the truck with the machine gun, and behind it is the grate where you entered this area. A soldier is yelling for someone to lower the ladder. The ladder is next to the truck, on its left. There are two soldiers near the ladder, and you can get one or both of them from here. If you don't, they will come into the building and up the stairs behind you, and you can get them then. You can get the two snipers from here, but watch for someone firing rockets. There is a room adjoining the one you are in, and one soldier is there; you can get him from here, too.

Go into the adjoining room through a doorway to the left of the windows. Go to the other end of the room. There is a long building next door with two roofs. Jump onto the lower roof and go to the right. You'll find the whole side of the building is gone and floor planks are sticking out; enter the building here. Go to the other end of it, where you'll find a desk and a bulletin board. Get the venom gun project book on the desk. This is vital to complete the mission!

If you prefer, you can get the project book when all your opponents are eliminated.

Exit--There is a building across from the one with the project book. The broken floor planks stick out toward it. Much of its front is blown away. There are three or four soldiers shooting at you from this building. One may have a panzerfaust. You need to get into this building, because it holds the exit. You can fight them from here, or jump out of the building you are in and re-enter the sewer, then come out again by the truck with the machine gun. Then you can climb the ladder to get to the the broken floor which is by the building with the exit.

If you choose to jump down and re-enter the sewer--after you jump, go to your right and then straight, and you'll see the first grate you went down.

When ready, enter the door in the building with the exit, and follow the hall around to the exit.

Part 3 - The Trainyards

You can get the first sniper from where you enter, but be careful--there's a soldier behind the first door who may come out. Go in the first door and follow the hall to the roof with the big smokestack. There are two more snipers on a roof across the trainyard. You can get them with the snooper. Be careful of a soldier who may come up the ladder. Go down the ladder. Three soldiers will come out of the depot across the tracks.

In the depot there is health and a helmet. On this same side of the tracks (opposite the ladder) go to the building where the two snipers were. Go left around the far side and you'll see a ladder. You can go up to the roof and get health and a panzerfaust.

There are three or four soldiers in one of the train cars, the one with the open doors. You can get them from the roof. There is a warehouse to the left of this train car. Enter it by the cargo door. There are three soldiers there, two overhead on the catwalk. Three more will come from the interior of the building once you enter the warehouse.

Go inside the building (the double doors on the left as you enter the cargo door). There are two more soldiers. Go in the door directly across from the double doors. Go in the next door on your right. There is a soldier in there. To your left as you enter there are two red buttons. Push both of them.

Go back out and to the right. Go in the next door and up the stairs. Go to your right and get the sniper who may give you trouble. Go to the left where there are two technicians with handguns, and a flak jacket.

Go back downstairs, and out the door across from the double doors. Turn left and you will see another set of double doors with a light over them. Go in them. You are in another warehouse. Watch out for soldiers overhead and two soldiers who come up from a lower level straight ahead. When you are able, go in and find the stairs on the left.

Go up the stairs, watching for a soldier in a glassed-in area. Go to the right and follow the catwalk to a door. There is another soldier in here and some food and ammo. Go back out, turn right, and follow the catwalk to the end of the warehouse. You will see a tan-colored panel with some writing on the far wall. Open it and push the red button. This will activate the elevator and take you to the next step.

Exit--Go back down the stairs and go straight, past the ramp that leads to the lower level. Keep going straight and you will see the elevator. This is the exit.

Secrets: 2

1. Across from the entrance and beside the train, there is a tall building with two soldiers who have a panzerfaust. On the side of the building, to the right as you face it, is a ladder. Go to the top of the building and you will see a train car with an opening in the top. Jump down onto the train car and enter the opening; this is a secret area.

2. In the warehouse section where the elevator is, there are stairs that go up one level. At the top from the walkway you can see a glassed-in area with one soldier and some health. It looks impossible to get to, but it's not. There is a short section of walkway by a large gray door, jutting out next to this area. Stand on the railing across from this walkway and jump to it. From there you can easily jump to the secret glassed-in area. There is a lever in the area. Pull it down and it will extend a bridge from the short walkway.

Part 4 - Secret Weapons Facility

You are riding on the elevator. When it reaches the bottom, go in the first door and get the guard in the little office. Go through the double doors. There are four more guards. Go down the stairs and continue on to a platform with a guard and a technician. On the other side of the platform, turn right and go down the hall to a sort of warehouse area. There is an upper level, and two soldiers are on it; one has a panzerfaust. You need to get to the upper level. In the middle of the room you'll notice a box on a crane, and some other boxes stacked up near it. Climb on the stack of boxes and jump to the box on the crane, and from there to the upper level.

You'll see a raised walkway, and beyond it a set of double doors. You need to get into the double doors, so you need to lower the walkway. This is how: Go through the double doors on your side of the walkway. Go down the hall to another set of double doors. There are three or four guards in the hallway. At the end is another set of double doors. You'll hear a buzzing sound. That is the horrible electrified half-men who walk on their hands, called lopers. They're in the room down the stairs on the other side of the double doors, and there are three of them. The flamethrower works pretty well on them, but after you use it, run away or they can electrocute you before they die. They can open doors and come right after you, too. At the bottom of the stairs there is a venom gun that also works, and you can use the panzerfaust.

After you get rid of all the lopers, go across the room they were in to the far end. You'll see a door on the left. It goes to a small office and there is one guard inside it. Just inside the door to the left there is a red lever. Pull it; this lowers the walkway. Three guards will storm the office with a panzerfaust. When ready, go out of the office back down the hall where the three guards were, and you'll be back in the warehouse section by the box on a crane. You can climb to the upper level again and cross the walkway to the double doors on the other side of it.

Go in the double doors and straight across to a door. This is a small office with one guard, health and ammo. Go back out and to the stairs. Three guards will come up the stairs. Go down and over some pipes to the right; watch for another guard around the next corner. Go in the double doors. You're in a room with a water tank some torpedoes and some shelves. There is one tech and another guard will come in from the left. Where the guard came in, through the double doors, go out and to the left. Go through the next set of double doors. This is the U boat pen. A number of soldiers are defending it, so watch it here.

Exit--Go to the side of the U boat pen opposite the entrance, to a door. Go in, up the stairs, and to the right. Watch it; there's a soldier to the left. Follow the hall outside to a walkway. Cross the walkway and to the right you'll see a soldier below behind some boxes. There are also two barrels in front of a door. When able, jump down and blow up the barrels, as the door won't open on its own. Go through the hole and up the stairs (there are two guard at the top). Turn right, go through the door, and up the stairs to the exit.

Secrets: 4

1. When you first get off the elevator, you see some health and a panzerfaust in a little room. Three walls of the little room are concrete and one is a chainlink fence. There are some tanks along one of the walls. Shoot them and they will explode, blowing a hole in the wall so you can enter.

2. In the large room with the lopers, there is one loper locked in a little room. Let it out and get rid of it, and then blow a hole in the back wall of the little room. You can go in and get health, a panzerfaust and some other things. You can see this area behind a chainlink fence when you first enter the loper area.

3. Just before you enter the sub pen, there is a room with with a tank of water in the middle of it. Jump into it and go to the shallow end. Kick in the grate and follow the passage around to a ladder. Go up the ladder. Go to your right and follow the passage to a door; go in the door and go to a tan window covering on the wall. Open it and you'll see a wheel. Push 'enter' and the wheel will turn. Retrace your steps and find one of two small doors you can exit through.

4. Across from the door to the tank of water, you noticed a chainlink door and some health and other resources behind it. You probably went to its left and jumped down one level, but couldn't get up into the room with the resources; there was a hole that led to it, but no ladder. But when you turned the wheel, you flooded that whole lower level. Now you can float up through the hole, where you'll find a ladder and access to the resources. Exit by the chainlink door.
